What’s Going On in Providence This Weekend?
ZooARTyssey – An Odyssey through Living Art on Mid-Summer Evenings ~ Enjoy an unforgettable experience as you journey through the Zoo on a summer evening during the magical sunset hours. On your way you’ll discover enchanting and engaging living art characters created by Rhode Island’s renowned performance artists, TEN31 Productions. Friday, August 12 6-8:30 PM. You’ll enjoy the living art as well as all the animals on exhibit, along with live music. Delicious food and an array of beverages including beer and wine will also be available for purchase. A unique, all ages appropriate event!
This Saturday, you could become the first person in history to walk the Independence Trail Line in Providence. During the ribbon cutting ceremony and inaugural walk, the last 375 inches of the trail will be painted, ensuring that no one has walked the complete three-mile trail prior to Saturday at 10 a.m. The public is welcome to sign up to walk any time between 10 a.m. and midnight. Registration to take the walking tour of 75 historic sites through downtown Providence begins at 9 a.m., with one registrant chosen to be the first to walk the line.
